Timothy P. Carney is a senior fellow at the American Enterprise Institute, and a senior columnist at the Washington Examiner. He is also the author of four books, most recently Family Unfriendly: How Our Culture Made Raising Kids Much Harder Than it Needs to Be and Alienated America: Why Some Places Thrive While Others Collapse. He is a native of New York City and a graduate of St. John's College in Annapolis, Maryland. He is a Knight of Columbus, an assistant little league coach, a former CCD teacher, and the founder of a parish tee-ball program. He and his wife Katie raise their six children in Northern Virginia.
